Product Description

A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! The latest new addition to the ARTFXJ lineup (a bold expansion designed “to bring Japanese characters to their fans worldwide”) is the collectible card browser video game Touken Ranbu in which players fight evil using legendary swords brought to life as young men. The first ARTFXJ presentation is none other than HOTARUMARU! Wielded by Korezumi Aso in the Nanbokucho period, the real life Hotarumaru sword was named for fireflies its owner saw in a dream and enshrined at Mt. Aso. In the game and now in the ARTFXJ series the sword takes the form of a small boy in a military uniform who himself wields a long odachi sword. Hotarumaru strides into battle confidently with head held high and his weapon brandished in a downward-angled grip before him. His black uniform jacket, cap, and short pants are highly detailed with seams, creases, and other clothing elements and feature tons of adornment in the form of braids, buckles, armor pieces, medallions, and more. Along with his militaristic garb, flowing cape, and pose the online game character will capture your imagination with the determined expression on his face and his piercing green eyes. Sculpted by Koei Matsumoto, Hotarumaru stands over 7 ½ inches tall (1/8 scale) on his specially designed display base.
